Malta Enterprise to set up new Communications Unit

30th July, 2009 - Malta Enterprise's chairman Alan Camilleri has announced that ME is to set up a Communications Unit which will have as one of its duties the liaison with Malta's embassies abroad. Malta's embassies are important in the promotion and assistance of investment and are to be used as Malta's showcase in overseas capitals. The embassies this year handled some 50 enquiries per month from overseas companies.

The government is now working on raising the visibility of Malta abroad. The economy is being diversified into new sectors such as information technology, financial services and high value-added manufacturing.Despite the international recession, Malta has continued to attract foreign investment and the number of new companies registered by the end of this year is expected to match last year's figure
