Andrew obtained his Doctorate of Laws at the University of Malta in 1999, subsequently pursuing his studies at the London School of Economics and Political Sciences (LSE), obtaining a Masters of Law degree in 2000 in the areas of Company Law, Financial Services Regulation, The Law of International Finance and International Trade Law.
Upon his return to Malta he joined the international practice of one of Malta’s larger firms where he was exposed to various international commercial transactions, providing a solid basis for the development of a more complete understanding of the commercial and legal issues involved. Subsequently, he joined a reputable boutique law firm specialising in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, company law, the law of insolvency, financial services regulation, and shipping law, which provided him with invaluable experience in each of these fields, and honed Andrew’s skills of developing lasting client relations and ensuring the quality of legal solutions delivered to clients.
With new business challenges and opportunities presented by Malta’s accession into the European Union on the 1st May 2004, the need for specialised and more personalised legal services became increasingly evident, and Andrew began developing his own commercial practice the following year. As the firm’s steady growth continues, both in reputation and size, Andrew remains committed towards improving the quality and effectiveness of legal solutions provided to clients in respect of their business affairs, thereby further enhancing the firm’s standing as a leading provider of quality legal services in Malta.
Andrew holds office as director of various companies within the CSB Group, a group of companies providing inter-disciplinary professional services to which the firm is closely affiliated, including CSB Trustees & Fiduciaries Ltd, a company authorised by the Malta Financial Services Authority to act as trustee of both local and foreign trusts and generally hold client assets on trust or on a fiduciary basis, and OCRA (Malta) Limited, a member of the OCRA Worldwide network.
He is certified by The Institute of Financial Services Practitioners in Malta as a Trust Law and Administration practitioner, and is a member of the Malta Chamber of Advocates, International Bar Association, International Tax Practitioners Association, International Fiscal Association, Malta Maritime Law Association, International Masters of Gaming Law, Institute for Financial Services Practitioners and FinanceMalta
Andrew lectures Corporate and Business Law with the Malta Institute of Accountants and regularly contributes academic articles relating to the areas of his legal practice to various publications and online information resources.
